According to Modi, the festival marks the importance of 'Women Empowerment' for the betterment of Indian society.
A day before Raksha Bandhan, the excitement is evident in the markets of Gandhinagar. People can be seen buying Puja Samagri and colorful Rakhis in various designs. On the day of the festival, children often wear new clothes for the ceremony.
