Ritu Nanda and Randheer, Rishi and Rajiv Kapoor
With the great Raj Kapoor as their father, is it any wonder that each one of the children have achieved success in their own respective areas of work. Ritu Nanda is considered India’s most successful Life Insurance Advisor and has received awards such as ‘Brand Ambassador’ and ‘Best Insurance Advisor of the Decade’ from the government-owned Life Insurance Corporation of India. She is the Chief Executive Officer of Escolife and also holds the Guinness Record of selling 17000 pension policies in one day. Her son, Nikhil Nanda is married to Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter, Shweta Bachchan-Nanda.

Out of all the three brothers, Rishi Kapoor achieved the maximum success in his bollywood career while Randheer and Rajiv Kapoor also gave some memorable performances which left an imprint on our hearts.

Sanjay Dutt and Priya Dutt
Children of the immensely popular cine stars Sunil Dutt and Nargis, Sanjay and Priya have carved out their own place in Bollywood and Indian politics respectively. Like Sunil Dutt, Priya has built a political career for herself while Sanjay has been a successful movie star like both his parents. His memorable Bollywood performances have enthralled Indian audiences in the country and abroad.

Sanjay’s personal life has been quite challenging at times and Priya has stood by his side like a constant source of support just like an ideal sister should. They have another sister named Namrata Dutt. Priya and Namrata published a book about their famous parents titled, “Mr. and Mrs. Dutt: Memories of our Parents” in the year 2007.

Sajid Khan and Farah Khan
Both have made life more fun for all of us with their talented contributions to Bollywood! While Farah has been ruling the Indian choreography segment for years now, Sajid can be called the ‘king of comedy’ in Bollywood. Both of them have also directed several movies now and have delivered hit movies to entertain us in yet another way. Farah Khan directed the hit film ‘Main Hoon Na’ while Sajid Khan was the director of ‘Heyy Babyy’, ‘Housefull’ and ‘Housefull 2’ amongst others. They have Zoya Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar as their maternal cousins.

Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra
Three generations after Jawaharlal Nehru and Vijay Lakshmi Pandit, the same family produced another famous brother sister duo that has achieved a prominent position in India’s public life, standing beside each other through thick and thin. Young Indians consider both the siblings as role-models and both of them are two of the most liked and popular Indians in the current times.

Rahul and Priyanka have been tested in the crucible of personal tragedy when they lived through the political assassination of their grandmother Indira Gandhi and their father Rajiv Gandhi. Now, both of them campaign during election campaigns and play an important role in Indian politics. Rahul Gandhi, especially, has done some fabulous work as the General Secretary of the Indian Youth Congress over the last few years.

Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson needs no introduction. He was the most famous member of the Jackson 5 (the Jackson Brothers) and was an iconic personality in the world of music. Janet Jackson, his sister, also achieved success as a singer in her own right and gained significant popularity with her music albums.

Michael Jackson has to his credit the most commercially successful music album ever in the history of music with the multi-platinum ‘Thriller’ while Janet has recorded many hit singles and albums and has also performed many successful live concerts during the course of her career.

Subhadra and Lord Krishna
Subhadra was the half-sister of Lord Krishna. Both of them shared a relationship of filial closeness and love. When Subhadra and Arjuna fell in love, it was Lord Krishna Himself who helped them to come together. From this union came the brave warrior Abhimanyu, who heard his father tell his pregnant mother, Subhadra, how to enter the ‘Chakravyuh’ battle formation. As Subhadra fell asleep while listening to Arjuna, Abhimanyu could not hear the part about exiting a Chakravyuh and this cost him dearly. After growing up, Abhimanyu gained fame for bravely entering a Chakravyuh battle formation during the Mahabharata war despite knowing only half the strategy. He was such a great warrior that the Kauravas had to use unfair means to kill him since he caused an immense amount of damage to their army and warriors till he was alive during the war. Abhimanyu’s wife, Uttara who was pregnant at the time, later gave birth to the sole heir of the entire Kuru clan, Parikshit, who became the king of Hastinapur after Yudhishtra.

Thus Lord Krishna, who was an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, helped the continuation of the civilization of ‘Bharatvarsha’ by bringing together his sister Subhadra, (a partial incarnation of Shakti) and the greatest warrior that India has ever produced – the brave Arjuna. To this day, Subhadra, Jagannatha (a form of Vishnu) and Balbhadra (Jagannatha’s brother) are worshipped in one of the ‘dhams’ of Hinduism, ‘Jagannatha Puri’ in Orissa.
